Transition Year Students as part of their studies in Jewish History and Culture followed a Heritage Trail on Friday 23rd May. It started with a visit to the Jewish Museum in Portobello where students were transported back in time by examining various artefacts on display and then followed by insightful presentations by Dr. Natalie Wynn and Edwin Alkin.

The TY Chinese Culture and Language Studies students hosted a tea party for their class, staff and our Chinese students. Traditional games were played and authentic snacks were served. Thank you to all for organising.

On Thursday 22nd May, Ms Donohoe and Ms McGill brought the 3rd Years to visit Ely Arch, by the River Dodder, to compare this building in their local area to a Roman building as part of Junior Cycle Classics.

The TYs, under the guidance of Dr McAdoo, have been tending to the polytunnel throughout the year. At the end of the year they cooked the potatoes and onions they'd grown! Delicious!

On Wednesday 14th May Stratford College's Student Council visited The High School to meet their Student Council. It was a wonderful opportunity for both Student Councils to meet and discuss common issues and themes such as New Leaving Certificate Reforms; Wellbeing & Bí-Cinéalta Policy; Community Actions; Exams and Extra-Curricular activities.

2nd Year students were transported back in time through a guided tour of the restored rooms of 14 Henrietta Street and Dublin’s City Centre on Thursday, 15th May. Stories and history of the house were shared about Lord Viscount Molesworth in the 1700s as well as the lives of the urban poor when No. 14 became a tenement house in the 1880s.

After a most fantastic Wellbeing Week (6th - 9th May), Ms Finnegan celebrated all the Sports Day winners at the Sports Assembly on Tuesday, 13th May. This was immediately followed by the TY Graduation. In the theme of "all things Shrek", the TYs graduated suitably garbed as a variety of Shrek characters!
